Meet Our Physician Assistant, Vanessa Laws
Vanessa is a native of the island of Trinidad and Tobago. She had an interest in the medical field from an early age, and after her family emigrated to the US in 2000, that opportunity was realized. After obtaining her undergraduate degree in Biology from Howard Payne University, she spent several years on a genetics research team that focused on scoliosis and other pediatric orthopedic disorders.
She then attended physician assistant school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where she focused her elective and selective rotations on primary care and orthopedics/spine disorders. Thus, it was a natural fit to join Dr. Benae at North Texas Brain and Spine Specialists upon graduation.
Vanessa is very excited to care for the family of NTBSS patients and further her interest in brain and spine pathology.
In her free time, she enjoys dancing, church events, and doing just about anything with her family.
